What is Latke? 

Latke is a Jewish dish, most commonly associated with Hanukkah, and is very similar to a potato pancake. It is traditionally made from grated potatoes, mixed with onions, eggs, and sometimes matzo meal (a type of unleavened bread), and then fried in oil.

Latkes are typically served with sour cream or applesauce, much like Kartoffelpuffer.

Differences Between Kartoffelpuffer and Latke
